Reaper with M-Audio 1814, routing inputs

I just bought a used M-Audio 1814 so I can record a live show this weekend. I am going to try to use Reaper, since I do not have Pro Tools M-Powered, only LE.

I am using Windows XP SP3 with an ASUS P5K-E motherboard.

I installed the newest drivers, and sort of got it working. Reaper knows it's there and it seems to work. Except the inputs are really screwed up.

If I plug something into input 1 I get signal in Reaoer coming into 1,2,4,6, and 8.

If I plug something into input 2 it shows up in 1,3,4,6, and 8

If I plug into input 3 it shows up in 1,3,5,6, and 8

If I plug into input 4 it shows up in 1,3,5,7, and 8

If I plug into input 5 it shows up in 1,2,3,5, and 7

If I plug into input 6 it shows up in 1,2,3,4,5, and 7

If I plug into input 7 it shows up in 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7

If I plug into input 8 it shows up in all 8.

What the heck is going on here?!

Have you correctly set your I/O range in the Reaper prefs? Here's mine as an example.

Thanks for the response. To answer your question, yes. The input range was set from Analog 1 to Analog 8.

Could this be an incompatibility with my motherboard's Firewire drivers? I've heard that Pro Tools is incompatible with them...
