Thread Starter | The cheapest things... ...actaully make my studio go round and recordings happen. There are certain things I use everyday that really don't cost the earth but awlays seem to come to hand. My top items are:- A cheap real metronome that cost me about £25.00 - I sometimes find it useful to walk away form the DAW to perfect a little fill or phrase and doing it in time makes for quicker and smoother work. Various pieces of handheld percussion that cost me from under £5.00 to around £25.00 for adding quick extra depth to something. I have a pair of handmade maraccas I bought of a beach vendor in Antigua for a few dollars that sound great. An SE1A microphone. (About £70 new). I always keep one of these plugged in for taking quick takes or sound effects. They're bot the best mikes in the world but equally if you're running it all the time and having it on your board / desk, if you drop it it's not the end of the world. Any REAL cheapies that you find you rely on all the time?

| my behringer headphone amp. this thing has four amps that can each drive 3 sets of phones with a separate aux input on each amp. i take it everywhere and i can give each musician (in a typical 3 or 4 piece rock band) their own mix. it cost me less than $100. my sharpie. |
