Thread Starter | Need some equipment recommendations Hi there, I have a website dedicated to helping out audio enthusiasts starting out with their productions at Audio Issues - Audio Production Tips and I was wondering if you would help the site out by telling us about your favorite equipment? At the Audio Equipment page I'm trying to get a From The Reader Recommendations going and was wondering if any of you would be willing to throw in your favorite recording gear that you can't live without? There is no underlying reason, no marketing ploy or anything like that. Just pure and honest recommendations from users like you. Equipment can be your favorite monitors, jack plugs, headphones or compressors. Whatever you can't live without in your audio production and why you love it so much! Thank you so much in advance. I really appreciate it ![]()

| can't live without outboard compression: dbx160x's especially!!! wish i had 2-4 more. i love patchbays and my neve clones. my ma-200 and sm7b are my favorite vocal mics. if i had to downsize to barebones, i would have to have all of this.

| Gear addict | I could not live without my Sytek MPX-4Aii preamp. It is the only 4-channel preamp I own, so I use it every time I need to shootout mics. It is dependable, with lots of clean gain and very quiet noise floor, and great specs across the board. Sounds fabulous on acoustic instruments. I prefer it over my Grace m101. |

Thread Starter | Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated. However, I seem to have been a touch unclear in my previous message. Since I don't want to copy your messages into the form on the audio equipment page I would really appreciate if you gave yourselves under five minutes to put your recs into the form on that page. Thanks again, I love the DBX 160 too!! |
