RNP gives you two channels for roughly the same price of the other two, which are single channel units but are more channel strips than simple preamps. If you'd rather have more preamps, the choice is simple: RNP. If you don't need the extra preamp, but need the dynamics, eq, etc, go with the presonus eureka.

I love my Eureka

I love my Eureka, and I think there may be a rebate going right now, where if you buy a Eureka and pay $500 for it, then they will just throw in the AD192 digital card. The digital card lets you hook two units up to it, so I've got my Eureka on one side and a BlueTube on the other. It's really great for the money.

I would rather have the safesound init instead of the eureka and the platinum series focusrite stuff...

I'm not saying that this is the case, but I sure hope this thread doesn't turn from the original question asked, or even into a bashing of a certain brand. Sometimes, it seems like folks discount equipment they've not even tried because it's fashionable to do so.

The Eureka, in my opinion, is a good little channel strip. I agree with the opinion above about getting the AD card and adding another pre for the other channel. Maybe Safesound or some tube channel might be a nice contrast there.

Personally, I don't use the eq or comp part of the Eureka, as I like to have options for that later -- I just like that I'm sending a reasonably clean digital signal into my DAW from this unit. Since I like to tinker a little, I did do a search for mods for the Eureka and am quite happy with the results. But, then, I experiment with most of my pres that way.

Good luck in your search.

Goob.
