Should I sell my Roland Fantom for pro tools rig

Will I get better sounds using the pro tools instruments or should I keep my fantom.

Pro Tools would not give you better "sounds" on its own. Fantom is an industry standard instrument, Pro Tools is a glorified tape machine. Your comparison is meaningless.

Meaningless maybe......
I was only asking a simple question, a more dignified response would have been appreciated.
Thanks anyway.

I think his response was quite on point. There is no comparison between the two.

they are two different beasts. Why not save for a cheap Pro tools Le system and keep the roland? The amount of money you'll loose by selling the roland over what you paid for it new from a store is well above what the average Le system costs.

But this is just my opinion.

Yeah, I suppose it could come across as insulting, but I didn't mean it in any way other than just a truthful statement. It's like asking if a toaster will give you a better roast chicken than your oven.

Depends what you wanna do man! Cos having both would be better in my opinion! I love using my sweet keyboard with protools (Nord). Keep the keyboard if you still play and use it and just save up some more.

I've got the Fantom X8 and the XR but there's no way I'm selling them. Although the sounds in PT are okay but I feel that the Roland sounds are still pretty good and I use them more.

keep the Fantom and still get a cheap LE system....Pro Tools is just a sequencer when making beats even though it does come with a few Rtas instruments I wouldnt sell the fantom for them lol...
My advice Keep the Fantom and save for a Pro Tools rig.
