m-audio delta 44 or delta 66?

im planning on buying the M-audio Delta PCi interface... because i needed 3 or 4 inputs to record at one time... have the m-audio mobilepre now.. giving me slight hiss issues and also 2 inputs are less for me... i need 4 inputs simultaneously.. the delta cards seems to be the only ones in my budget here -below $150-200 and having 4 inputs... im wondering if i should go for the delta 44 or the delta 66... (i would never need the spdif in/out) but im not sure if there is a difference in the sound quality between the two.. do they use same ad da convertors etc?is the sound quality same? also... the delta 44 or 66 does have good quality sound right? and is there anything else out there with 4inputs and good or better sound quality than the deltasin my budget range???

The only difference like you said is the spdif in/out, they both have the same sound quality one just has the spdif and one does not. I have been using 2 44's together for about 7 years now with now problems. If you dont need the spdif then just get the regular 44 and save a few bucks. You will also need 4 preamps to go along with either one of the delta's as they do not have pre's built in.

If you need only (4) inputs, then the Delta 44 is good. I use it in my studio.

However, since my board is (8) buss, there have been times when I've really wanted 5, or 6 channels, think about it hard before laying down your money.

I would always rather be in the position of having it, and not needing it, than to need it, and not have it.

But then they rest are all much more expensive.. i mean if i go for more inputs.. i dont want the delta1010LT because i use some long cables sometimes.. and going unbalanced wouldnt be too good then.. delta 44is in ur studio and give professional sounding audio?? can recordvery clearly wihtout any noise , hum , hiss issues right?

as long as you use balanced cables in and out of the 44 you wont get any noise.. atleast I dont.. And yes you can record high quality audio with them .

Yes, amazon is a reputable online store.. And you might get lucky and get them to play nice together.. if you have problems doing so, I would check out the m-audio forums.. good luck!
