Thread Starter | V-Verb Pro as a converter?
Greetings Low End Slutz - As many of us know the V-Verb Pro is a great reverb for the price and if you can find a unit that works - even better! I have one that I love but I have been brainstorming about using it as a standalone A/D converter. Is it possible to run the analog ins to the optical out and simply bypass the effects? Has any one had success doing that? I've read the manual and the routing options are a little confusing, it appears its possible but I do not know how to modify the routing to get there. Also, if anyone knows, would it function as a decent converter? Thanks! |

| Gear maniac | It wouldn’t hurt to try it, especially if that’s all you have right now. I own both the V Verb and the Ultramatch, and both are very good units. Granted, I’ve never used the converter in the V Verb as a dedicated source for conversion, but why not?...Just bypass the effects, and voila….Go for it!...It should work fine. Chris |

As of now I have only used it as either analog in to analog out or digital in to digital out. Do you have to change the routing in order to get it to go from A to D? If so, what menu do I choose this from?

I think this can be done. I am using an XLR to RCA/SPDIF converter to hook the unit up to my SPDIF ins. I dont remember if you can cross route inputs/outputs, but it has two stereo paths. I was using the SPDIF outs of my soundcard to input of the v-verb, then run to the mixer via analog io, so im 99% sure you can do this. |

Once you’ve got the digital connection you’ll simply turn off or bypass the effects. There may even be a bypass setting on the V Verb; again, without it or the manual in front of me I can’t recall. Either way, you can accomplish what you want, and it should work well. Chris | |

| Gear maniac | Okay, I found the manual online. Under the Setup menu you should be able to change the input configurations in the COMBI Edit mode. Page 12 of the manual explains how you can setup your master inputs. Chris |
