Thread Starter | micing the bottom of the snare
i have been using a bottom mic on the btm snare for the past little - i know you have to flip it out of phase but are there any other tricks? distance/position/angle? it doesn't sound that great to me - only blended in really low with the top. also i have been using a akg 535 padded down for it - seems to have a little more top than a 57 - any thoughts on that? i don't have a lot of choices for that mic when most of my other stuff is on the drums ---- i could use a stapes omni maybe (although i like that as a rm mic). any tips would be appreciated. |
