Thread Starter | Electrovoice 666 Microphone Hey guys, I was just given an EV 666 mic as a gift and am looking for the cable that is supposed to go with it. I've done a bit of research, and from what I can find the cable can be wired to go from the old school UA3 connector to a regular XLR. Does anyone know where I can get this older connector to solder on my own cable? Or is there a manufacturer that produces UA3 to XLR cables? Nick |

| Lives for gear | Cool score! You can often pick up the connector/adapters on Ebay for a reasonable amount.

| Good mic!! I like it on kick. It's worth looking around for a connector. If Ebay doesn't pan out for you try calling the chief engineer at a fairly established tv station. If the station dates back to the '60's he might have what you're looking for in a forgotten parts drawer. Also take some ribbed hemostats and try to unscrew the tiny ribbed screw that holds the windscreen mesh onto the body of the mic. If you can get it off, clean out all the old rotten foam and either leave off or replace w/ new. I got some from an RE-50 that is currently available from EV. I can't remember if I trimmed it a little but it wasn't a big deal. |
