Rode NT1-a problem

Hi, I want to buy microphone. I've tested Rode NT1-A but my voice was very warmth and has too bass (it sounds like a speaker voice in the radio, but not the singer). So I sing at low frequency I think. I've try to do in EQ, but there weren't good results too. And I read about SE 2200a that it is very good microphone - so I have a question - 2200a will be better to me? Please help!

I have the 2200a but I don't like it as much as a Dynamic on my voice - I'm a baritone with a low voice too, it sounds a bit thin to my ears. I'm not an expert on these matters though, I only own 2 mics!

So, I'll try once again. about 18 cm from microphone-and results are te same. My voice is fat, with bass, and warmth, and a little plastic(?) . - I am a baritone too, but I sing not high-end. I try 30 cm from microphone- there is a much ambient, but my voice is still plastic warmth.

You might try an AT3035 if you can borrow one from a friend. To me it has less low end than NT-1a and the mids and highs are very nice. The NT-1a has a boost at about 150 hz that may not sit well with your voice - I like it on mine.

That's right. I think that my voice it's like that becuse of boost. If I try -20 db pad it will help? AT 3035 ok thanks - I will check it, do you have any others suggestions? I ask about SE 2200a, AKG perception?

No, I would tend to try take out the 150 hz boost in the NT-1a with subtractive EQ, or just go to the AT3035.

Never heard the SE2200a or AKG Perception, sorry.
