Thread Starter | Behringer px1000 ultrapatch Hi Ok jokes aside, Ive just bought a Behringer px1000 patchbay for my home studio and I havnt got a clue how to change the modes. I thought it was the model with the switches on the top where you can switch modes Normalled, half normalled ect, but apparently the px1000 has to be opened up so as to access the modules. Ive spent hours on the net looking for a solution. I read somwhere that the jumpers have to be cut on the modules to change modes but nowhere on the Behringer site does it explain excactly how to change the modes, or in the manual! I conntacted customer support who sent me a diagram which still doesnt explain how to change modes! The manual doesnt even say what mode its set to coming straight out of the box! Cheers |

| I have one and it is no problem..from what I know it is set up for you...I just use the tops for outputs and the bottom for inputs..like my preamp is coming out into 1-a on the back, and out 1-b on the back to my daw..then I have a dbx compressor with it's input on 4-b on the back and the output on 3-a on the back..so if I want to use it I patch it from 1-a on the front into 4-b..that gets the signal into the compressor..then I patch 3-a on the front to 1-b that gets it into my daw..WOW...what a bunch of confusing crap man!! |

Thread Starter | LOL! Hey RTR thats helpful thanks. So when you say its set up for you, what mode is it set at? I cant believe theres so little info in the manual concerning setting the thing up! I just wanna connect in my stereo comp as an insert with the 003 in half-normal mode and my fx unit in thru mode but apparently I have to change the jumpers on the modules which is where Im lost?? | That model does not have switchable configs... looks like the next one up is the one with the switches.... Manual is here: http://www.behringer.com/EN/download...P0221_M_EN.pdf |

The brief manual that comes with the PX1000 patchbay says it has 5 modes and appears to describe them all but doesn't actually tell you HOW(!) to change the modes. MODE 1: Pass Through (and ) Insert MODE 2: Split MODE 3: Split ( alternative ) MODE 4: Pass Through MODE 5: Pass Through ( alternative ) I can see a few little link wires that are quite hard to get at but as it's a balanced system I'm sure I'd get confused if I tried to cut any of them or possibly re route them. I think I'll use mine as a strip of forward facing mixer line inputs and only use half of the hardware. I bought it on ebay several months ago without realising it wasn't like the others ( PX2000 [unbalanced] and PX3000 [balanced] ) ![]()
