Need new RME card... advice please.

Hey all,

I have an ooold digi9652 Hammerfall card that has worked great for me for years. I just updated my music computer running Vista 64 and realized that card is no longer supported/doesn't work.

So, I need to finally upgrade my card, too. Can anyone give me advice between the HDSP 9652 and the Raydat card? I see the Raydat has more inputs... I don't care about that... I really only need the 24 adat. If the Raydat is meant to replace the HDSP9652, my main concern is newer/better clock technology and the card being rock solid/stable in Vista 64... and so I'd probably opt for the Raydat since I'd also have room to upgrade. Though if both are solid in Vista 64, both have same exact technology, etc... I'll probably just go with the 9652 and save the money.

My plan is to stay with RME since it's worked so well in the past, but I guess if there is an alternative someone recommends more, I'd like to hear that, too.

I really only need 24 adat as everything goes in and out of a Mackie D8B and is monitored from there.

Thanks for any input/advice.

Have you tried getting the WDM driver and reflashing the card from their website first?

Quote:
WDM streaming driver for the whole Hammerfall DSP System. WDM, WDM-KS, GSIF and ASIO for all HDSP and HDSPe cards.
In any case, the difference between the two is the interface. If latency was/is a problem for you, then get the RAYDAT. Since most monitoring and send/receives are through the Mackie, get the 9652.
