Question Is this console worth buying ?

So I was checking out the local Craigslist and came across a Carvin MX1602 Mixer for $140.
-16in 4 bus. 4 part graphic EQ for main outputs/monitors,48v phantom power, In Good condition.

He Bought it off a friend who didnt know of its working status. Then Cleaned it and Bench tested the unit when purchased. All in working order except for 7th channel, unusable, no signal. All other channels work fine, monitors, effects, EQ, Inserts.
2 of 4 VU meter lights burned out but meters still read fine. Missing 2 buttons on monitor section. And Comes with protective case.He is willing to take lower and just wants it gone. Im thinking it wont hurt to have around to mess with and learn on. I have a class coming up where I learn to fix boards and random studio gear so it would be beneficial with that class at least.

But my question is worthy enough for me to use as a project studio board instead of its live purpose ?

It's a good nice to have for monitoring in the studio (4 busses are really useful there). You might also be able to use it as a summing mixer.
