Which Oktava for drum overheads

Debating between MK-012 or MK -219 for drum overheads. Probably use only two mics at first then maybe add kick and snare mics in the future. Possibly joly mod the mics as well. Any thoughts. Thx!

I've never had a problem with using mk-102s as overheads. They get the job done but they aren't anything to write home about.

Apparently I am dyslexic. MK-012s I meant.

After much reading and listening, I decided to go with Beyer MC930's instead. Thanks to all for their contribution!

The MK-012 is just about the indie musician / engineer go-to OH mic. My buddy Kramer doesn't do a session without his mod'd '012s.

For folks who like a beafier sound the large diaphragm / transformer-coupled MK-219 is great alternative. You can here the 219, 105 and '011 (very similar to the '012) as drum OH here.

Thanks. I will probably buy a used MK-219 and get your mod.
