duet pre amp upgrade

i'm using duet pre amps right now, i've heard they are pretty good pre amps, would a pre 73 be a noticeable upgrade from the pre amps on the duet? also if you were looking for a good colored pre and then a cleanish pre for acoustic guitar mainly what would you go with?

I have never used a GAP 73, but I am an owner of a duet. The duets pre's are very clean and neutral with lots of available gain. There is a good amount of detail available in them as well. I added a UA 710 for colour and warmth. Combining the 2 pre's on a single source such as a guitar amp really gives some flexibility in the tone.

From what I've read about the GAP 73, it sounds like it would be a good choice to add some warmth to recordings. It has been said to have a very vintage sound. There is a huge thread about it on here, which has some audio samples to listen to. I don't think it would be an upgrade per se, but the GAP 73 would give you that analog warmth that the duets pre's lack.
