Chandler is definitely low end - it reaches the very bottom of my empty pocket!

I haven't personally used the Chandler - but I like the results of what i've heard on guitars... A very rock n roll pre apparently (EDIT - I meant the TG 2) The X73 sounded great on my voice several years ago - I'm sure the X73i will sound great with the added flexibility. My current low end "Neve style" pre is a Chameleon Labs 7602 - If the Vintech is anything like that, then I'd be very happy to use it |

I own a 7602 and the x73 smoked it. Literally. If you can get it your life will change. The ltd-1 is more expensive but i can get a used one for the same price of a brand new vintech x73. So it's hard to tell cuz i havent tried the ltd-1. Logically its 1000$ so it ''should'' be better. But the x73 could sound better, the price doesn't justify the sound. any opinions? |

I have the X73i and it is my favorite preamp that I own (also have a Pacifica and a Grace m101, both really nice for what they do). I have been through a number of preamps and sold them cause they just didn't cut it, but I will never get rid of my X73i. Actually looking to pick up another one when finances allow. Haven't tried the Chandler.

I don't know the technical stuff, but I only know it gives the sound a tone that the 7602 cannot match, it's sound sterile compared to it.

Both are quality, but I prefer what I hear from the Chandler. Round and warm!
