Thanks for all your help thus far. How does the A/D and D/A compare on the i88x to the Fireface? Like I said before, I was going to go with an Onyx 400F but this sounds like a great deal. BTW, the pres are very very clean..are they ok for rock? Thanks Junior !

i think the pres are good. if you don't already have "clean" pres, these would be more than worth the price alone... as far as the converters go, i haven't a/b'ed them with the ff800, but they sound really good to me. for $399, you could pick up an i88x -and- have money left over to put toward outboard converters, pres or mics (that would make a bigger difference to your sound, imo)... or, add other mlan gear (like the 01x, ksp8, motif, apogee ad8000/trak2, etc) - lots of options.
