I love the Zoom H4n!!

I think the H4n rocks.

I use it record gigs i live engineer at, 2 inbuilt "room mics" infront of the musicians and a stereo line in from the PA.

With some straight forward post production you can make a live gig sound pretty killer - grreat for getting in with local bands

Anyone else lovin it?

I have an H4 and it seemed great until I tried to use Inputs 1 and 2 with external mics.

I get no signal when using dynamic mics or condensers with phantom power.

Could you help me figure out what I am doing wrong since it works for you?

- I enter the "Input Menu"
- I change the "Source" to "In1&2"
- I make sure the levels are set high
- If it is a condenser I switch Phantom Power from "Off" to "+48v"
- When I check the levels in the "Input Menu", nothing comes up at all!
- Try to record anyway and still nothing!

I also tried plugging a guitar in and still got no signal...

...am I missing a switch somewhere?

Are the input 1+2 lights on the front on? (rather than "mic")

have you tried setting the mode to "4 channel mode"?

definitely h4n not h4?
