Please listen to my "low end" setup mix! Metal/Screamo

Hi there! I've been working on this mix today and yesterday or so and am really happy with it but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks or opinions. It's "metalcore", screamo, hard kind of stuff as you'll hear! It's what the kids are playin' these days . Recorded using a Firepod.

I still have some little things in there I have/want to touch up, but, any tips, suggestions, thoughts... questions?!

Thanks!

EDIT: I uploaded a revision of my own a few posts down, preferably check out that one (it's shorter/smaller file size, as well). Thanks!

I think its a good mix. Its really good. Solid Guitars, solid drums ( maybe louder toms, but thats just me ). The only thing that really bothers me is the screamed voices that are doubles and panned hard left hard right. Im not much of a fan of that. But its a great mix.

hope this helps

Thank you! Haha... I love the hard panned vocals . Maybe (hopefully) it's a thing of taste but I see it as just big vocals like big guitars, panned hard. I appreciate the feedback!

Just listening on headphones, everything sounds pretty decent.

I think my main complaint is just that the drum samples are very obvious, but that's kind of par for the course in this genre of music.

Only listening at quiet level (dont want to disgust guests that are downstairs, lmao) but it sounds well tackled to me ! i agree the hard left and right screaming bits are a bit...? well actually it is quiet cool but they're a bit over powering for me.

Sounds alot like Emarosa!

Guitars in particular sound very good

Sounds solid man... Just noticed a little autotune glitch near 2 minutes (I think)- Just got off a night shift, so who knows what I'm hearing... Ah, think I just heard another one just before 3 minutes!

Sounds good though!

Those guitar tones are pretty legit! Sounds good

What was the guitar recording chain? (if you don't mind me asking)

Thanks very much everyone! Yep, I think the band is definitely going for an Emarosa thing! And yeah I noticed a few autotune glitches myself, one of the things I gotta go through and touch up .

Thank you! The guitar recording chain was a Schecter of some sort that had EMGs into my Mesa Boogie Mark IV, mic'd with an audix i5 into the firepod, anddd that's it! Of course there's compression/EQ on it as well.

I'm attaching one more, this one has a bit thicker guitars to fill in some of the space that I thought was missing... and probably some other things. It's just a minute clip as opposed to the whole song.

sounds nice... I do agree on the hard panning on those vocal, but maybe is not only the fact that there are hard panned, but, maybe they need hard compressing aswell to make them fit in the mix cause they like stand out of it a little bit

I'd raise the snare a bit, i like those In your face snares and this one is a little bit in the back

good job

I think maybe I need to just turn down the screams down since that seems to be a common critique... I am actually absolutely crushing them through two compressors already . I agree with the snare too! I'll crank it up a bit.

Thanks everybody... any more opinions/thoughts/etc are appreciated.
