This song was recorded entirely with the MXL 770 in a large untreated room running into a Mackie CFX12 out of the tape outputs with a radioshack rca cable into a soundblaster soundcard. Recorded and mixed in Audacity. Run through the Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter set at 6db.

Sir you are an amazing musician and that is why this song is great. A bit bright on some level, but still great sounding.

Peace,
min

Agree with the above. I just went back and listened to this song. I think the most amazing part is how well the title of your song fits the mood of the music.

Nice thread you guys have going on here.

Bump it for posterity.

Here is something I played drums and guitars on and recorded a few years back and never released, all done with some Shure dynamic mics, AT2020s, and a Rode K2 for vocals, on a Mackie 1200F into Logic all mixed ITB, mostly UAD plugs.

Thread Revive!

Cool song man! That really sounds pretty good considering the equipment used.

I figured this is a good time to revive this thread. Life's been busy for me, but I'm getting some time again to work on music.

I just finished this two days ago.

I used an Echo Audiofire 8, MXL v69, a Mesa Boogie Maverick, Logic 8, and then everything you see on the screen.

I'm really starting to think about minimizing my set up, and just go mobile. with the new Mac i7 laptops, and now with UAD's apollo out(don't forget the thunderbolt potion), I can already do larger projects just on my laptops. all I need is a soundproofed room to record drums and everything and I'll be all set really......

my gear wish list as of today

-UAD apollo
-Axiom pro
-Mac i7 laptop with 16gigs of RAM
-2 black lion auteur preamp
-..........and a bag of mics.....

Draw the Moral: I was going to mention Broken Social Scene. Check out 7/4 shoreline ( it's in 7/4 !)
It also has a lovely vibe that you have.

mprewett: Also lovely. It's right off a TV commercial isn't it ? For a mobile phone company or something.

Thank you, memphisindie! Those guys (The Paul Allens) were always so much fun to record.
