Linking MOTU 828 Mkii to ADA8000, best way to sync?

Hello Low Enders
I have just picked up a Boringer ADA8000 to add extra analog outs to my MOTU 828 mkii via ADAT connection. Which would be the best way of syncing the clocks together, via the ADAT connection or via BNC? Or, will it make no difference which ever way??
Thanks

just connect the toslink cable to the 828, and make sure the behry is set to the same sample rate on the back, and you're good to go

When using short Adat cables, it probably hardly makes a difference. On longer connections, ADAT cables can introduce some jitter, so there BNC is preferred i'd say.

Thanks for the responses. So there should make no difference to sound quality if I sync the units up with either TOS link cable or BNC?
Thanks

You'll be fine by syncing over ADAT(TOSlink) thumbsup

Sorry, but this is wrong. The behringer has 4 modes: act as a master at 44k, at 48k, act as a slave while looking at the bnc for clock and slave getting clock from adat-signal/toslink. You will get clocking-errors (clicks, pops) if you try to sync using the first two modes.

To original poster: what DrDeltaM said.

working from memory Herwig, don't have the unit anymore. My bad. I do remember it was relatively painless to set up thumbsup
