Out of all the exciters, I'd have to say the SPL Vitalizer range is the way to go. Very pristine and smooth sounding compared to the other exciters, specially the higher model tube version. The Vitalizer stereo width enhancers is where it excells I reckon, though it does increase the noise level. Bass section is very good at adding more bass, specially to Kick and Bass in a mix but the whole unit can easily be abused. Best to only use it lightly specially to a good mix. If the recording is not that good in the first place, using exciters isn't going to be the solution unless it is an effect you are after.

Save your money and get one of the Vitalizer range if you're after an exciter.
