Thread Starter | liquid mix settings saving problems!
Hi there I have had a liquid mix for a couple of years and have had no problems with it at all till now. I haven't used it for a while and i upgraded the software first to V2. I have just opened all my old Pro Tools sessions that I used liquid mix with and the plug ins are present on the inserts but there are no settings saved whatsoever! I presume this is because i upgraded the software. I searched the installer and there is no mention or warning of this happening so I am pretty pissed off to say the least. This has occurred with every session i have done - the settings are all blank. The settings were always kept within the pro tools session files before but not now. And to add insult to injury - now when i start a new session (post V2 software update) and put liquid mix on a channel and change the settings they are lost on reopening pro tools as well. V2 has been out a while and this can't be right. I don't want to have to save my snapshots on every insert manually!! Finally, when I try to open up a Pro Tools session which has liquid mix inserts on it and the liquid mix is not present (sometimes I am at different studios) Pro tools crashes on start up when it says "cannot locate liquid mix hardware" whereas before I would just cancel liquid mix and the session would open with the liquid mix plug ins as inactive. Can anybody help please? Thanks Pro Tools 7.4 LE & HD Macbook Pro 10.4.11 2GB RAM 2.33 Ghz |

I had the same issue with my MBP and DP. I believe that the issue may be that the settings are overwritten when a new install of the driver is installed. I could be wrong about this but I did have a lot of my settings wiped out with the install. |

The only problem I have with installing the older software is that it doesn't have the fix for "hardware follows plug ins" and I HATE changing the track input etc on the hardware..... Any idea why I can't open sessions and PT freezes when liquid mix not present??? Cheers | |

I had a lot of issues with mine when I got it. Like Chris, I came close to selling mine. The main issue was the LM (unlike the UAD-1 I first bought in the Mackie days) takes a while to set up properly. Now that I have it working I like it a lot and it sounds great. The last issue I had with it was total crashing in DP6. After trying everything I could think of I found that changing driver priority from medium (which is what Focusrite reccomends) to high and the LM works great. All my settings get saved so I can't help - but I have had that problem. What I did - and it was a little bit of a PITA - was just to save my settings as presets before I closed my project. |
