Man, I'm fighting a bout of cognitive dissonance right now: that first take sounds so smooth! Smooth like Loggins! How can that be the Rode?
Alright fair enough. I think the 2nd take sounds more smooth and natural though, and the first one sounds more in your face (tonally), but slightly more papery and hyped, less smooth.

If you're listening on small laptop speakers and you're hearing room noise on an sm7b in a dense hyped mix like this, then..well then I'm surprised by the quality of those speakers!

Edit: Maybe you're hearing the plate reverb on the second take, and confusing that with 'room pollution'? That might explain it.

That might be it. Also, to be clear to both you and Alehoe, I was calling the 2nd take comparatively more polluted than the first -- not outright saying there was anything bad about or unusable with the track.

Once again, I'm listening on tiny speakers, but the 2nd performance has a distinct honk to it, like you might expect from a cheaper condenser, and the first one doesn't have this. I'm sorry for being a butt__le, Alehoe, but are you sure the 1st is the Rode and the 2nd is the Shure?

I hear pretty much the same thing but I likes No.2 better for this song.

I'm also surprise tha No.2 isn't the condenser because I hear that honk too.

okok, in the end they probably both work, it all depends on how you use and process them I guess.
