MXL V67G as overheads

Just tried my new pair of MXL V67G's as overheads on a tracking session tonight..... gotta say I'm VERY happy with them! Sounds great!!

have been meaning to, but i have several different mics that usually pull OH duties.
adk SL pair
cascade fatheads
rode nt5 pair
sennheiser e614 pair

i don't have a pair of v67's matched. a v67 black and v67i. i figure that those would be close enough for OH, also my v69 pair are no longer "matched" both sport different tubes now. i really need to get more of my options rolling with my OH's, but what i currently use just sounds so damn good!

I love the sound of mine as a mono OH. Sounds like a mic that should cost quite a bit more than the ballpark figure of $100.

Has anyone ever tried the V67g on snare drum? I just tried it out on an electric guitar cab last night with fantastic results!

EG cabs are also awesome with the v67. the bad ass EG mic is a cascade fathead, though.

i have never tried them on OHs. will have to.

best condenser mic under $100 IMO
