amp for NS10m s

Hi Everyone,

Looking for decent cheap amp for Pair of NS10m s... How important is to have really good amp for those? I'm in desparate need of new speakers since I've been mixing on 10 year old Alesis active (not sure of the make...the once with blue lights) that sound really muffled... I also have cheap sumson amp... So I'm hoping to imroove my situation for now by getting NS10m s...

Any advice please?

Thanks,
Peter

PS or should I get A7s for $500 more (means mixing on crap for another month or more)

Well, THE amp to power NS10s IS (without any doubt) a Bryston 4B, though a good one will cost you quite a bit. On the cheaper end, you could go with an ART SLA-1 or SLA-2. These don't sound bad, though I tried the SLA-2 once (before investing in a 4B) and the fan is excruciatingly loud, so you will need to figure out how to get it out of earshot. For an inexpensive option, these aren't bad.

I'm not usually one to jump on people to UTFSE... but

this has been done plenty of times, which a whole bunch of great discussions that no one wants to revisit. In fact, you don't even need to search! when posting a new topic doesn't it auto search for you?

eitherway,

etc..

To answer you, Bryston is great (3B or 4B). As is the Yamaha P2250 or similar from the same year(ish). Some Hafler and most Perreaux would also be fine. So people insist on a sub

I have a couple of EV 7100's I have used in the past for various tasks, 1 rack space no fan, I have bought these off ebay for not much over $100.00.

Bryston

I just got my Bryston 4b last night. And all I can say WOW. I never know they had that must low end potential till now. Glad I dropped the extra cash on the bryston.
