Thread Starter | Liquid Saffire 56 vs Liquid Channel pres? Hi, I'm interested in knowing how the tone of the Liquid preamps on the Saffire 56 and Liquid Channel compare. I realise that the Liquid Channel has 80dB of gain compared to the 60dB on the Saffire 56. I also understand that there are fewer models and editing options. What I'm keen to find out is how does the sound/tone of the Saffire 56 Liquid pres compare to the same emulations on the Liquid Channel?? |

| Gear Head | I read somehwere that Saffire 56 has 3rd generation of Liquid technology, while the Liquidchannel (LC) is 1st or 2nd gen. Liquid-technology consist of software emulation (dynamic convolution) and hardware (capacitance and resistance). The hardware part of the Saffire is less complex than the LC's. The Saffire has only 10 models (listed on Focusrite website) and only edit option is amount of "harmonics". Regarding the quality of the Saffire's emulation I already wrote here Quote:
