I would think even if it's not touch sensitive, it should sense fader movement and go into write mode once you MOVE a fader... is that the case? If not, what is the workaround?
You CANNOT use touch mode with the BCF's, as they are not touch sensitive faders. The best you can do is put the automation mode in write at the exact point you want to change the automation and re-write it.

Along with touch mode, you also can't use Latch etc... Basically, you can use read and write, anything that depends on reading automation and then changing it can't be achieved using the BCF.

Peace

Not a bad Bargain

I've used one for 4 years now with no issues. Just remember to have it powered up when you start your DAW. If not, you're DAW won't load it, and you have to jump through some hoops to get it going.

The faders are a bit jumpy, but for $100, you aren't going to get "touch sensitive", and "smooth control" like a Mackie. If you have the cash, the Mackie is def. the way to go, but the Behr is a half decent second place.

Also, it does have many emulation modes, and you can print out a template for what each button/dial does, so you're not scratching your head wondering why your "pan" dial is running your EQ.

Anybody interested in a BCA2000? The USB interface in the same form factor as the BCF?

I'm selling mine (brand new in box) for £100

I have 2 working fine on win 7 64.

Let win 7 install the drivers for them and you're ready to roll. Plug and play

I'm using it with logic and am quite happy with it. Once you have put your own labels on it ("press this button once, then knob #8 to enter graphic EQ mode, etc.") you're good to go. It's a shame there's no free Mackie Control display simulator for Mac though.

You can't really use it for automation because of the non-touch sensitive faders but it's awesome for level-matching different takes on their own tracks.

You can also put into Mackie Control mode and control the virtual mixer of most MOTU interfaces with it which is pretty cool: latency free monitoring with real faders with mute and solo buttons.

Yup! Just use the FastTrack to record and the BCF to control

Adlen would I just connect the Fast Track to another USB connection on my computer or connect it via midi to the back of the BCF2000 to get my guitar music into my computer & onto Sonar to be controlled by the BCF. Kind of confusing.

to seperate usb ports.

i have used a fast track pro with a bcf2000 with sonar as the DAW.
each unit gets its own usb port.

My BCF2000 & BCR2000 comes this Tuesday & I still haven't decided what to control with the BCR. Was going to try to use it in ACT in Sonar 8.5 but still not sure. Any recommendations?

BCR would be great for parametric EQ. 8 columns (for each band) and 3 rows (Freq, Gain, Q) plus the top layer of knobs can do whatever.

For anyone looking at a BCF2000, I suggest waiting a bit if you're on a 64-bit OS. All of the people I find saying good things about it are on 32-bit platforms. I had this thing working perfectly in Mackie Control mode with Cubase 5 yesterday, but today it decided to stop accepting instructions from Cubase. I made no changes from yesterday to today except to power my studio down before bed last night.

64-bit support on this seems a little flaky in USB-1 mode. I read a lot of great reviews from 32-bit users, though.

I put a note into Behringer. Hopefully they'll come back with a magic answer.

Hi, Greg. In troubleshooting a defective BCF2000, I found that Behringer's 64-bit driver for BCF2000 is prone to blue screening with the error MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS. I'm pretty sure my device was defective, however, and I'm pretty sure you'll only get this message if yours is defective or has a valid reason for queuing input. Everyone else I'm hearing from has great things to say about this device on W7 64.
