need help to get Jeff Buckley style reverb

hi, after listening to song like Hallelujah or Lilac wine, i am trying to get that kind of reverb with altiverb. i would like to know what kind of hardware or room was used on grace record... it sounds wonderful. thanks

You won't get it with Altiverb. Buckley used an Alesis Quadraverb on his guitar, which makes use of extensive modulation within its reverb algorithm. You could fake it by putting chorus after your Altiverb plugin, but it will not have the same effect as modulation within a reverb. For the vocals, he may have used a high end Lexicon, which also has modulation, but I am unsure of that. The Quadraverb I have read about in many places, though.

EDIT: zmix has made a convincing argument that the sounds on Grace were made by a combination of a Yamaha SPX-90 (for chorus) and a Lexicon 224 (for modulated reverbs). I have seen shots of the Quadraverb in Buckley's live setup, but the sounds on the album do seem close to the 224 Concert Hall examples that zmix has posted.

As far as plugins, I'll put a plug in for Audio Damage's Eos, which has my own modulated reverb algorithms embedded within it. The Redline Reverb can get some nice modulated sounds, at a higher price. Or, you could go get a used Quadraverb - I bought mine for $50, and they are usually under $100.

Maybe a Quadraverb or Lexicon IR? I'm sure they exist somewhere. I imagine it wouldn't give you the range of control of the originals, but might get you in the ballpark if it's a good IR.
