Thread Starter | Cheap cables = bad tone ?
Hello everyone, It's been a long time since i used those cheap brazilian-made cables for recording. A few months ago, i changed all my guitar cables to George L's and the tone improvement was HUGE. Smoother lows, nice highs, more volume, more definition. I am thinking of also changing part of my recording cables, but i need to ask...Will i notice the same improvements when recording, as i did with guitar ? Sometimes i feel that, no matter how i place the mics, whatever i record lose highs, compared to what i hear on the room. Are Mogami cables with Whilrwind conectors good ? (i live in Brazil, so i have few options on that). Thanks, Ivan |

due to the high impedance of the guitar, the cable will have more of an impact on the sound than a line level cable. however, i still think it makes a difference. when i switched from monster to canare, the first thing i noticed was better high frequency detail. Quote:

With balanced cables I don't think it matters. That said, just unplugging and plugging hosa cables will kill them in a few months.
