Thread Starter | M Audio Fast Track Ultra
Hello GS. Will the M Audio Fast Track Ultra fill he bill for the below needs? What are flaws with FTU? I am looking for a very portable firewire or USB audio interface for live performance that has the following features: 8 analog out puts 4 inputs including 2 mike inputs. Headphone jack with ability to have separate and independent mix in the phones that I can change without affecting output to mixing board. Extra headphone jack would be cool. EQ and limiting at on at least a couple of outputs. The ability to get the mix to the drummer via second headphone or aux etc. If I need to I can do without on board processing. I need outputs for: Headphone mix. If headphones mirror an output pair I cannot use these outputs to the board cause I do not want to change any output to board when I change headphone mix. I need dedicated headphone mix. In M audio Fast Track Ultra the headphones mirror an output pair so I cannot use those outputs to board. This eliminates one set of outputs. Another pair of outputs for backing tracks in 24 bit stero. Another pair of stereo outputs to assign NI Absynth to. Another pair of outputs to assign NI Guitar Rig to. An output for the mike. An input for the mike. I really only need EQ and limiting on mike channel but it would be cool to have it on all channels. Note: M Audio has problems with hot plugging that can result in interface and computer damage, so I am looking for a unit that does not have this problem. I am looking go an interface that does the above and is very portable. Ideal unit would do just what I need without overkill. Do not want to lug around a big unit or pay for stuff I will not use. Any ideas? Thanks. |
