Console valuation help

I wonder if any of you slutz know what a Studiomaster Mixdown 16-8-16 would be worth (lets assume working condition)? I'm considering grabbing one locally.

a good trick to find the approximate used value of something is search on ebay and select 'completed listings'. It will give you a pretty good idea of what people are willing to pay....

Yeah, tried that one already - there hasn't been one recently. Even searched most major North American cities' CL pages for recent ask prices, but didn't find anything.

hello.
just seen this as i'm looking for insurance valuations myself (for analogue synths) .

i insured my console with the following valuation method:

1) i picked what i considered to be a fair valuation (off the top of my head)

2) found a reputable service engineer/console dealer (in my case for soundtracs consoles). by the way he thought my valuation was a little high but reasonable.

3) asked him to confirm that value via email to me for insurance purposes. which he was happy to do.

4) forwarded this email to my insurance company who accepted that as proof of value, no problems.
