Thread Starter | Advice on finding vocalist I have a home based PTLE 7.4 studio that I run on a MAC platform. I am a songwriter and a keyboard player. I write a lot of different genres of music including Pop and contemporary Christian. The problem that I always run into is that I can put down all of the tracks using my software VI's and my keys except vocals. I am not a proficient vocalist. I seem to always be held hostage by local vocalists. They are either not available and/or they are not reliable. Any suggestions on methods of finding vocalists on music websites or other venues? I have been through the typical gamut of on-line musician sites and I can not seem to find people who are committed and interested. Obviously I do not expect services free of charge. Any suggestions would be helpful. I live in the central Ohio area....which is not a plus..... PK

| Good question! I'm a vocalist/guitarist who has a hard time finding drummers and keyboard players. My main problem is that I do not use PT anymore. Not to hijack this thread, but is there are way to share files between programs?

| PK, Have you tried asking any of the worship team vocalists at Vineyard Church in Columbus? There's some really good talent on that team. I'm in the same boat as you, and in the same area. I submitted a demo CD to the Vineyard ( I'd like to get on the team as a drummer), and the Worship Team leader's assistant said " Um...uh...you're not wanting to audition as a vocalist are you?" I'm still waiting on a lady from Mansfield to come down an lay down some tracks, and that's been over a year since we spoke about it. I wouldn't try to force it. Just be patient and , if it's in His will, the right singer will come along. Bill |

| Pro Session Vocalist Available For Hire Hey there! I saw your thread and thought I'd reach out and introduce myself. My name is Katherine and I'm a pro LA session vocalist always looking for new opportunities. I have clients all over the world that I work with in various genres of music. One of my clients in Florida actually writes contemporary Christian songs and I am currently recording my 12th song for him! I have a wide range of training and experience that allows me to meet my clients' needs for their specific projects. Thanks to the internet that provides file transfers (yousendit.com) and payment options (paypal.com), I've been fortunate to provide this service in a safe and easy manner for my clients. I've attached my vocal demo mp3 that gives you a taste of my vocal range. Also, please feel free to check out my links so that you can learn more about me and my experience. Thank so much and I look forward to hearing from you! Kat. ![]()

| I called the Eastman School of Music the other day with the exact same question. It turns out that they require their students to take gigs. She said that there's a "Hire-a-Musician" thing on their website. You might land a future world-famous kid. You can do tracks via email. Even musicians have computers. I don't have contact info at hand but you know how to find things on the web. LP |
