Most affordable digital master clock??

Ive been told to look for a used Aardvark Aardsync II, but none are around. They seem to go for $150.00 used.

Do I have any other uber-affordable options? I need to link my Ramsa WR-DA7 to adats, D2424lv, etc. I've been told that an external clock would be better than the DA7's.

Many thanks in advance!
Terry

The D2424LV clock isn't too bad. I used a Lucid clock as master when my D2424LV was linked to a digital console. After selling the console, I a/b'd the D2424LV with and without to determine if I should keep the Lucid. I think the low end was a bit more flattering w/ the clock but the differences were too slight to worry about. The Lucid is also a WC distro which is nice for syncing multiple pieces.

Edit: FWIW the GenX6 is 20ps RMS/50ps Max. I sold mine for around $200 earlier this year.

the hosa wdc-427 fits your needs and works at a decent <150ps jitter. the old aardsyncs were <150-200ps jitter.

or higher up, a pro-level bla microclock gives <10ps jitter.

(ps=picoseconds)

i don't know. most companies don't advertise jitter if it's poor. you could e-mail ramsa to find out. maybe they'll answer.

but i probably wouldn't bother adding a cheap external 100-200ps clock unless you just need one master with 4 outputs to tie everything together.

BLA Microclock.

Black Lion Audio Microclock

From their site,

Sampling rates: six selectable rates, 44.1 kHz-192 kHz

Jitter: maximum 1 pico second of intrinsic jitter, less than 10 picoseconds of accumulated jitter measured using a delta sigma averaging method.

$425 new. I have seen them for less used occasionally. I have had one for awhile and it worked flawlessly. I recently had them work on my 003r and now have their clock installed internally. I still have the microclock though, I don't know if there is anything that could touch it at that price.
