Hey guys, wondered if you could help me out....

I'm from Bristol, England and have just started mixing my bands new EP.
We recorded Drums through a Alesis Multimix and then everything else through my Mbox2Mini and a 002. We used all stock pres and coverters.

We have nearlly finished a couple of the songs and i wanted to no if you would take the time to check out my mix and give me some feedback on it.

We have to re-record the bass because it is only a scratch take and some over stuff needs adding. I am the drummer by the way.

The tracks called Everything You Need. Its on my iDisk if you want to have a listen.

.Mac - iDisk

Thanks.

Matt

The cymbals sound really fake. Are they real?

i like the guitars, they sound good
i like the vocals though they seem to get lost in the mix a bit, just a bit.
those backup vocals could come up a bit, they're interesting (maybe more compression and panning)
the drums: cymbals sound funny, lightweight, maybe roll off the top end, beef up the bottom and bring em in a bit more. i think the bass drum and snare are mixed a bit to loud wich is probably partly responsible for the vocals getting lost a bit.
bass drum sounds a little thin.
the snare seems a little high pitched for the song key(the tuning)
there's a lot of good things going on in there though. i like the song.
just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your replys.

Yeh, the cymbals are real, they are cheap Stagg ones tho

I also sing the backing vocal part so i was probably just making it quiter so i didn't have to listen to it.

I will sort those things out and maby re post it.

It probably doesn't help my room is so untreated.

Thanks alot guys.
