Thread Starter | Building a preamp
Hey guys I'm building a preamp right now and I have a question. It currently has one balanced output on a TRS connector that will eventually be the insert send. What will happen if I plug headphones into this connector?

It will buzz??????? Try it and report back, or leave that output for its intended use [better idea] Headphones want to see Speaker Level signal, not +4 Line Voltage.

Actually, line level voltage is pretty close to what headphones want. If you plug headphones into a power amp, you'd probably fry them. Here's a thread on the lab about this: Headphone level to line level? Dumb question (also, that is generally a good place to post questions about DIY gear.) |

how come you can build a pre-amp, rewire the o/p as an insert and don't know this?
