Reamp - Inexpensive solution?

Is there a cheaper solution than reamp to reamp?

I know $200 isn't too expensive, but it doesn't seem like this job requires an expensive piece.

Thanks in advance as always.

try doing without...

Sonically, I prefer Littlelabs to reamp, but that's me. I'm a J. Little fan, and I make no bones about it.

I'm not sure there's much of a price differential.

These things are cheap, man! Just buy one. They're so great.

However, if you don't want to send the dough, just do it "illegitimately." People reamp stuff all the time without the proper impedance, etc. It doesn't sound quite as good, but it works. When I was a kid, I would do it with my Mackie: send and return a signal to a guitar pedal. Worked fine. Now that I know what a Littlelabs PCP sounds like, I know better. But it was fine for the time. You just have to be careful with levels so you don't blow something up...

Thanks a lot for the quick response. Being the budget-minded slut that I am, I was looking for a deal. But I thought about it, and it's worth a lot more than $200 for my amps not to blow up :)

In the past I did reamp by sending the line level output from my Q10 into my amp, but I was always uneasy about it. Is the Little Labs unit called the "Red Eye?" I think they're both around the same price so maybe I will pick that up.

Thanks again!

The Red Eye is awesome and is perfect if you're doing one signal at a time. The PCP is more elaborate but sounds like it would be way overkill for you, both budget and application-wise.

I'm biased, though. I really, really, really love Littlelabs. Perhaps you shouldn't listen to me...

This has been covered on just about ever board out there.

Use a passive DI box in reverse, and attenuate the signal on the way out.

I got my Radial X-Amp box from Vintage King for $150 and it has phase reversal and 2 outputs. Fantastic deal and it's built like a brick shitt house.

Yup...works like a champ (or deluxe, or whatever ...

As for attenuation...I have a really inexpensive way to do this: turn the outbound track down a bit, and plug into the low gain amp input...

I've always used a Boss stomp box (NS-2) (turned off, usually with no battery either!) to sort out the signal. Not exactly sure if this is the right way, but i remember reading that they have an impedance similar to guitar pickups or something, hence the amp will behave as if the signal is coming from a guitar.
Maybe.

I always do a quick level check with a real guitar and the reamp signal to make sure they're close.

I got my X-Amp today, and I must say it's a very cool tool. The only thing is, it made me realize how bad I need a DI. My amp literally sounds like sh** when I run my guitar through my crappy Aardvark Q10 DI and reamp into my amp.
