Thread Starter | Phonic Helix 24 KMII Cooling fan..Is there one
Researching buying a Phonic Helix 24 MKII. Along the way I discovered that the Phonic helix 12 & 18 have cooling fans built. Very strange design feature, well to my ears. Can someone, with experience with the Helix 24 MKII tell me if there is a cooling fan in the board? I know the original Helix 24 had a heatsink power supply, and the MKII uses a switching supply, (they generate less heat) so maybe no fan. Funny thing about the stores that sell this mixer, non of the salespeople that I called could not actually look at the mixer to confirm this fan issue. And the Phonic web site has not answered my email. |

I don't see one on mine.It gets warm but not hot. You can call them to double check (813-890-8872)I would ask for Ryan.

Thread Starter | I got an answer from Phonic I emailed Phonic about the fan question and received the answer below. Thank you for contacting Phonic. The Helix Board 24 FireWire MKII does indeed have a small internal fan for regulating the temperature of the unit. If your concern is noise produced by the fan, we assure you it's quite minimal (if noticeable at all). The automated response is simply to notify users that their ticket was successfully submitted. The rest of it is just padding, really. We do respond to all help desk tickets, whether there are answers on the knowledgebase or not. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. If you simply reply to this email, you won't receive the automated response again. Best regards, Technical Support | Phonic Corporation |

Very strange,I see no exhaust ports on mine.I see 2 slotted fin like squares but it seems there's no room for a fan where they are located, unless it's minuscule.
