Making the Most of a Digi002

Hey all, this is my first post (applause) though i have been shadowing for a while.
There seems to be a vast amount of audio-related, experience-based knowledge in this forum so i must ask:

To get the additional 8 channels of ADAT optical I/O from my Digi002 do i need to buy something like an octopre or digimax or is there another way? i don't need the 8 extra pre's as i already have a selection of better ones (sebatron, sytek) that need inputs.

Perhaps the answer is obvious but i am new to the digi002. any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you need more analog inputs. Get a rosetta 800 from Apogee or RME makes an 8 channel AD/DA converter that is easily on par with a 002. Or do you need another 8 channels of ADAT lightpipe? You can't add any more digital I/O to a 002 as far as I know. hope this helps.

Hi lofi_lothario. I have the ISA 428 with the AD card...works like a charm!! If you don't need the four preamps...maybe the apogee option is best. In the true LoFi arena, you could get a very cheap ADAT machine and use it as a converter...not the best for todays standars...but great music will shine thru
