Hey. This is not my work! I just posted the link. I did however contact him later and he is awesome.

I was thinking of doing the same, but I am leaning towards the MidiBox LC. Its a MIDI platform where you can DIY your own controllers. So you can build a unit that sticks exactly to you needs, you can also get some higher quality faders (+touch-sense!), LCD panels, etc. It does require some DIY skills and a bit of programming though (not sure about the latter).

Here is the link: www.uCApps.de

Now that's pure porn... How did you connect those? I have one BCF and it's about collecting dust, I need to figure out how to make best out of it.
I used to have a BCR and I think it is a plug & play kind of thing.

I "upgraded" to windows 7 and the new Behringer win7 drivers gave me issues beyond 3 units.

So I went straight MIDI but managed to get 7 units going using only 4 physical midi ports and no USB or behringer's driver.

Here is the recipe:

First set both the bcr2000 and bcf2000 to mode S3 and give one an ID of 1 and the other an ID of 2
Now you may set the bcf2000 to McSo emulation if desired.

Now to cable up:

Midi out from a midi interface goes to BCF#1 (midi in)
The BCF#2 OUT port-A goes to the BCR#2 (midi in)
The BCR#1 OUT port-A goes back to the midi interface (midi in)

You could do this with two bcr2000s as well or two bcf2000s too. But not in McSo mode
With the pair only using 1 midi port. It may even be able to cascade more.

I will try and report back.

Any update on this project on Windows 7? Has the Sonar drivers been ported to x64 platform?

I remain haunted by images of this thread.

I bought a midi sport 8x8 midi device so each unit has it's own midi in and out.
Done, repeatable and reliable.

I've read through this thread...but haven't found any instance where someone got a chain working like @bitman on OS X.

Confirm either way?

Thanks for that .

Now...how are the quality of the motorized faders on this? It's not at Guitar Center or anything so I can't go check it out. One review I saw on YouTube seemed to show that the faders have a serious stutter issue when dealing with slow fades. Is this the case with all of them, or are they actually smooth and that persons was just of poor quality?

That's the case with all of them, but nothing noticeable in audio !
And you can disable motors when you want to hear your mix without motor noise… (For myself, I don't, I just increase monitors level !!! )
Remember that you're on the cheapest BUT ACTUALLY WORKING ! So…

Post #69 has some pics, but at that time it was not fully loaded as I was still procuring units. It is fully unloaded now as the studio has closed and I may be forced to move so everything is packed in the corner of my basement. I'll be setting it up soon and promise more pics.

Also I've heard those behr faders are noisy. You might not want 24 of them flying around...

Is this is joke? I mean, I know this is from 2009, but how can a fader MIDI controller be noisy? All its doing is sending MIDI control information to your DAW / software mixer...

I doesn't add any noise to the signal. The faders are physically noisy. When they are moving they go "clack, clack, clack."

You probably won't hear any noise when you're manually pushing the faders. Mine only make the clacking noise when using them motorized.
