Will TC Konnekt 24 be stable with my setup?

Hi,

I'm considering buying a Konnekt 24d interface but have heard a few reports of the interface having driver issues and stability issues!

I have a Carrilon Core 2 Duo 2.4gHz audio pc.

It has 4GB of 800mhz DDR2 RAM

The Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2

I only use this pc for audio and use Cubase SX3.1 as my DAW. I also have an M-Audio Keystation 88ES USB controller keyboard and Korg Pad Kontrol drum pad.

Will the Konnekt 24d be stable with this setup? I use a lot of VSTi's and VST fx.

i would buy it only at a shop where i can bring it back when it dont works.

i have a konnekt 8 and drivers are getting better, but i still get very occasional drop outs.

Hello,
I use to have the Konnekt 24d on a PC also, and I tried to get it to work for weeks. I waited for driver updates, they came and did nothing. This is one of those gear purchases I would never do again. I ended up selling it for a huge loss and went with a Mbox.

Wow! What was the spec + mobo of your pc's? Did you have Texas Instruments firewire chipsets? Were you using and other hardware?

Here is my computer Gateway GT4010. I think you can find the specs on support.gateway.com
I also have 4 gigs ram.

No other hardware, I was going firewire into the computer.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz with a gigabyte motherboard and 4 gigs of ram as well. I have a SIIG firewire card with TI chip (this is very important).

I am using a konnekt 8. So no comments on DSP effects.

My system is very stable with Ableton Live and Cubase SE. I record using heavy cpu and ram VST and VSTi (virtual drums, amps, effects, etc.)

My computer is used only for recording. I have a separate partition running ubuntu, for internet and other stuff.

Still I would recommend you to test it first. Nobody can assure you that it will work on your system.

Thanks for the replies! Just found out my Gigabyte mobo uses Texas Instruments TSB43AB22 2 port IEEE 1394a firewire ports.
