HI - mine did work well on a pc.
But I wouldn't use the analog ins or outs cos the converters are too bad!

Regards

Is it pretty cheap and been stored hermetically for the last half decade or more?

'Cause that's a mighty old technology. No doubt it has its merits. Moving forward is sometimes about tradeoffs.

But, while I've been satisfied enough with my MOTU 828mkII since I bought it in mid-2004, I seriously don't think I'd buy one used unless I was getting a good deal. (This is one of those with what I know now things... while the basic digital aspect has been pretty good [aside from having to power down/up the unit from every once in a moderately long while when its little brain wanders off], the preamps [which were a minor consideration when I bought it but I thought were nice to have in the unit] were always a disappointment and developed a nasty ticking noise after a couple years that made even the instrument input mode unusable (the mic mode was dull and unusable outside an emergency from the word go).

I'd shop around. I'm not saying don't do it. But I'd investigate other options.

For sure.
