Reamping: Gtr>DI>DAW>reamp>amp or Gtr>DI>Preamp>DAW>reamp>amp ? advices plz

Hi

I ordered a JD7 from Radial (i'm still waiting for it) and I would like to know how I can get the better guitar signal in my DAW.
I tryied to record Gtr > DI (Alto) >Preamp (digi002) and when i listen to my "clean" signal, i think it good sound better.

I've heard that putting a tube preamp (i mean mic tube preamp, not guitar tube preamp) before the preamp of the digi002 permit to obtain a far better signal. This theory was (which was practically verified by users, but not me -still don't have a tube preamp-) said for recording guitar direct in a DAW and then processed with a amp simulator (amplitube and stuff like these).

Is these theory true in the case of reamping ?

All advices are welcome, especially those from users which as experienced several line-up for reamping.
examples of line up :
Gtr > DI > Daw (line level entry) > reamp > amp
Gtr > DI > Daw (mic preamp) > reamp > amp
Gtr > Tube preamp > Daw (line level) > reamp > amp
Gtr > Tube preamp > Daw(mic preamp) > reamp > amp
............................

Tks

seth...

i think the obvious answer is, you should try it yourself, once you get your new box, and see what you like.

going through the JD7 as a direct box probably will be better than going through the alto DI -- but you won't know until you try, really, no matter what anyone posts here.

and if you do that, and then reamp, and still can't get a sound you like - _then_ maybe you'd like to try a tube pre (or tube DI).

search for "direct box" or "reamp" in the archives here and you'll get lots and lots of ideas....
