This box has been around for a long time, can't say when it was introduced, but I first recall using one in a studio around '79-80. I just listened to some tracks from those sessions last week and was surprised how cool and smooth the reverb was. It's no EMT plate but for the money it had a nice flavor.

Amazing spring reverbs. I am not familier with the BX15, but I did have a BX10 around 1980-1985 and I still miss it. I have also heard the big brother BX20 and it sounds even better. If I recall correctly, Richard Dodd said he still uses and likes the BX20.

I used to listen to all three at various places. I bought a new bx20 years ago and it was very very good for ballads. I didn't like the Bx10 much and I didn't like the bx15 at all. There was a depth missing in the 10 and 15. Neither one were as good as the 20.

I never heard of the BX-15 but I heard the BX-20E two weeks ago on a hendrix/chili peppers style ballad I worked on. It sounded great!! Shane | |
