Thread Starter | which reverb to compliment LXP15 - a rev500 or mpx500/550? hey everyone, sorry for yet another reverb thread .... but i couldn't find opinions on the specific comparison that i'm after.story is - im looking around to buy an LXP15 (used it in the past at a studio i had access to, really like its sound for certain applications), and i'm wondering which general purpose or "lighter" reverb would go well with it. i'm thinking of an MPX500/550 or a REV500, as both are selling for an amount i'd feel comfortable spending. i make ambient electronic and psytrance music, almost entirely synth based although i use samples too. i would never be using it for acoustic recordings though. i don't have access to either of these to hear them, so i'm looking for people's opinions who might have used both of these - the rev500 and the mpx500/550. i considered the rumour, but after reading that some people think it has a slight metallic ring, i'm a bit hesitant. i have a spdif connector on my sound card too so that is also a consideration. mainly i'm after something that will be high quality for the price, and will be an appropriate contrast to the LXP15 to give me a little more to work with. as far as reverb goes, plugins have never really satisfied me. thanks for any suggestions ![]() |

Lexicon Reflex - I own 2 but you'll want to augment the factory presets to bring the reverbs to life: (REFLEXOLOGY) Lexicon MPX-1 - I own this also and after tweaking the factory presets, it really sounds great: (Lexicon MPX-1) | |
