| Gear nut | stupid newbie question
why are the XLR ins on mic pre's all on the back? i'm gonna guess it's to facilitate snake/patchbay connections and such... but wouldn't get a massive interference problem w/ running a bunch of mic-level signals thru a patchbay? just curious... |

| They are on the back because that way there is more room for adjustments and meters on the front. Ideally, you would want to route mic cables as far away from digital I/O and power as you can. Practically speaking, though, it's not really a problem with ballanced mic cables. ...high gain, high impedance, single-ended guitar cables is another story... -tINY |
