Tascam m-520, any good?

hi all,

I am want to get a small (20-24channel) desk. I am going to use it mostly for tracking but it would be cool if I could mix on it some too. I am looking for somthing with dir outs, tape ins and useable pres and eq. (might be some wishfull thinking on the eq)

I found a m-520 but I can't find much info about them. How do they stack up with mackie 24.8?

Any one have other sugestions? I have seen the studiomasters but never heard one. I am looking at used one, less than $1000 usd.

Thanks,

Reed

You wont get the same routing options as with a Mackie 8.buss, or even an MX8000 but their pres are better, the E.Q.'s are much better, if not as flexible and overall, it's a good bang for a low end console.

Be prepared to do some pot cleaning and regional maintenance on a used board.
