Best high end vocal mic

I'm looking for a good vocal mic to buy. Thinking in U87-range. What other mics doe you guys have good feelings about?

Might wanna try posting this in the High End area. Us low ender's use the talkback mics in our Carvin consoles for vocals.

(pssst....I've used a Soundelux ifet-7 that I like a lot...don't own it though. also, might wanna do a search on this topic, as it's been covered quite a bit here at the G-Slutz. Welcome to the fold, BTW.)

Ok, I'll try overthere. Thanx for welcoming. I like this forum a lot and allready read a lot of interesting treads. Maybe I'll ask stupid things, but I'll try to act like I know what I'm talking about.

I used two U47's as "underheads" on drums once and it sounded incredible. Never used it on vocals though, but I believe in this mic.. and thats where you probably switch to "V"-mode with the iFet7. The iFet looks a really good alternative combining the U87-47 characteristics. Price looks Ok too. What do you guys think about the "Blue" mics? The ELam is a bit over the budget.

Seeing you're in Europe, you might look at the ADK custom shop mic, the CS-1. Tube mic, heavily modded by JP Gerrard in Belgium, with Blue capsules, and available in Europe from Golden Age music (for example) for a very "low end" price ... for what it is.

I'll second the ADK Custom Shoppe http://www.adkcustomshoppe.com/
They're in Belgium. Serious mics. You can get a mic custom built.
