Yes... i have the manual that came with it. it shows you all the modes you can set it to but it does not tell you how to do it. anyone else have experience with this patchbay and figured out how to break normal?

Ive only got the PX3000, that has switches on the top..

It seems that you have to unsrew the panel, and manually move the modules.. Im not sure, the manual is pretty vague on the subject.

Quick answer: you can't! The blurb is somewhat misleading as the PX1000 is permanently fixed in half-normalled mode, which if you ask me, is pretty bloody useless!
I modded mine to straight through, which meant cutting a track on the pcb. I'll try posting a scan later to show what I did.

Here's the mod as promised. You'll need to cut the track where indicated.

It's easy to reinstate with a soldering iron and a short length of wire should the need arise. If you're using it for stereo, you'll need to break the similar link to the left.

It's a pig to get all those pcbs back into the case though!

Glad I could help!
I just remember how annoyed I was after I bought four of the buggers, only to find out they were useless to me as supplied. I think their " five modes of operation" is a touch misleading!tutt

Question

I'm in a similar bind. Ok, so to start with, what "mode" are these things supposed to be in from the factory?

I'm trying to get "mode 1" straight thru flow front to back, (top to top and bottom to bottom)... none of that fancy crap... lol

are you sure you are not supposed to rotate the board around? I have a neutrik patchbay that has similar pcb boards and in order to switch the different modes you have to rotate and install the boards in different positions.

I found this schematic:
http://behringer-en.custhelp.com/cgi...365028&p_olh=0

So, if I plug into all 4 sockets in the module, I should get straight thru flow, right?

I mean, I could just use 16 modules instead of 8, but my rack won't be as pretty!

Sorry to revive an old thread, I'm in a similar situation where I just need straight thru front to back (top to top, bottom to bottom) or some call it non normalled or open mode. Is there anyway to mod the px1000 to do that?
