Should be better than the Bass Driver, as you have a mid control on the RBI... the other one can make the sound too scooped. Damn useful nevertheless!

I do like it. It's easy to tune in the sound you are looking for quickly. I haven't played with it too much but I will this weekend.

i had one and it sounded nice but seemed to be noisy to me for a bass preamp

I think the pedal is better. Something is weird with the presence on the RBI. Almost like when its half way up it sounds like its cranked.

You may want to add another DI or preamp after it just for color because it sounds kind of small on its own. Something with transformers and maybe some tubes would be cool. Anything adesigns makes or something in the Neve family might be cool.

I actully run my out to the Avalon 737, that also gives you a different feel.

Noisy? I haven't found that. I use the -20db pad switch and run XLR out through a pre (and a Smackie pre at that).

It's certainlty a lot cleaner than micing a bass cab. (Which I still do prefer, when I can be bothered.)
